3 Women Stole Pants And Were  Beaten To Coma in The Marketplace  Angry market women yesterday beat three female undergraduates to coma at the popular Asaba Ogbegonogo market, in Delta State for allegedly stealing various pants at the boutique line. Eyewitness said that the suspects were caught with the pants after they had pretended to be customers and paid for two different ones selected from the hangers. LEADERSHIP reliably gathered that the suspects’ who are undergraduates of the state owned university were said to be regular visitors to the market. NO fewer than three girls were at the weekend, confirmed dead at Umuigboke community of Oriuzor, Ezza North Local government area of Ebonyi state as they went to get water from an abandoned ditch in the area. The deceased girls, Chinonye Peace Mgbada, an Ordinary National  Diploma, OND, graduate of Institute of Management and Technology,  I.M.T Enugu, Alice Nwokwu, and Uzoamaka Nwinyima drowned in the ditch despite concerted effort by the people of the area to rescue them. A video posted online yesterday apparently showed seven French hostages kidnapped from northern Cameroon, with a masked militant claiming the radical Islamic group Boko Haram from neighbouring Nigeria held them. The video, posted to YouTube and mentioned on a jihadist website, shows one of two French men reading a statement, with a woman in between them. Four children sit on the ground near them, flanked by two masked militants wearing camouflage uniforms and holding rifles. A masked militant in front said in the video that Boko Haram kidnapped the French hostages, who were taken from Cameroon’s far North Region last week. A black banner in the background, bearing the images of the Qur’an flanked by two Kalashnikov assault rifles, also resembles a symbol previously used by Boko Haram. Millions of teenagers - and increasingly adults - are affected by the often painful skin condition which causes the skin to develop unsightly spots on the face, neck, chest and back. Acne is caused by a combination of the skin producing too much sebum and a build-up of dead skin cells which clogs the pores and leads to a localised infection or spot. It is thought that excess sebum production is caused by hormonal fluctuations, which explains why around 80 per cent of teenagers experience bouts of acne throughout adolescence.  While there is no danger from the spots themselves, severe acne can scar as well as lead to anxiety, low self-esteem and depression.

A 3year Old Girl Was Defiled By 34-Year Old Man A 34-year old man, Kehinde Paul Layode, has been arraigned before a family court in Ikeja for allegedly defiling a three-year old girl (name withheld). The incident, which happened at 3/5, John Crescent, Igando, Lagos, Southwest Nigeria, was reported at the Igando Police Station. A 60-year-old self-acclaimed Pastor, Simon Dike, and three other persons were, yesterday, arraigned before an Ebute-Metta Chief Magistrate Court in Lagos, for allegedly selling a month and 18-day-old baby boy for N60,000. The accused persons are Joy Uzochukwa, 27, the mother of the baby; Margaret Obinwa, 49, an auxiliary nurse and Chibuzor Ogbonna, 50, who was said to be the father of the baby. The father of the baby is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy in human trafficking and selling of a new born baby, Obinwa; the auxiliary nurse is facing a one-count charge of purchasing the baby while Dike is also facing a two-count charge of human trafficking and failure to use all reasonable means to prevent the commission of the offence by the mother of the baby and the auxiliary nurse. Members of the outlawed Odua Peoples Congress, OPC, in Abeokuta, yesterday, arrested a Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, pastor for allegedly raping a 12-year old housemaid. Vanguard gathered that the pastor, who was an interpreter with the church committed the crime in his home at 6, Shamusideen, Oke-Sokori area of the town while his wife was away. Luck,  however, ran against the randy pastor when the girl reported the incident to her parents, which prompted his arrest. Vanguard also gathered that the victim’s mother who could not stomach the incident informed the Ogbe unit of OPC and subsequently effected his arrest. The embattled pastor, who is also a commercial photographer, confessed to the crime, saying he was influenced by devil. According to Mba, the suspects who were arraigned on a 13-count charge of various offences under the Terrorism Prevention Act, Laws of the Federation, 2011, were alleged to have been behind the bombing and robbery of Union Bank of Nigeria Plc, Alkalari Branch in BauchiState, on July 8, 2011.  The police alleged that the suspects stole about N17.8 million from the bank. The suspects were also accused of attacking and bombing the Alkaleri Divisional Police Headquarters just as they were accused of attacking and robbing the then Intercontinental Bank and Guarranty Trust Bank, both in Azare of a total of N36. 4 miliom. The statement further read: “The charges indicated that the suspects at different operations, killed four persons, including three police officers. They were also charged with being in possession of assorted types of dangerous arms and IED materials.”

President Goodluck Jonathan, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Nigerian Film Corporation (NFC) have joined other Nigerians in mourning the death of veteran Nollywood actor, Justus Esiri popularly known as Village Headmaster. Esiri died of an undisclosed ailment yesterday. Jonathan described the actor as an epitome of commitment, excellence and creativity. Presidential spokesman, Dr. Reuben Abati noted in a statement that President Jonathan reiterated his belief that Nollywood actors have carved a positive image for Nigeria in the eyes of the international community. The MMIA Command, Lagos, of the Nigeria Customs Service yesterday arrested a passenger with $1.1 million at the international wing of the Lagos Airport. The passenger, identified as Professor Ofoegbu Charles Ononuju, allegedly claimed to be the director of AZ Petroleum. The professor was travelling with a passport with registration number A04008969. According to the customs area comptroller, Mr. Eporwei Charles  Edike, the passenger declared the currency both on forms CDF1A and CDF1B, but claimed he was travelling with Kenya Airways  flight number QR542 to Kenya to solve a dispute with a Kenya community  over oil blocks . Edike said the passenger and the currency had been handed over to officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for further investigation. He explained that, in 2012, the Nigeria Customs Service, MMIA Command, intercepted over $12.1 million from 14 persons who tried to take money out of the country in contravention of extant regulations.
