A 23 Year-Old Man, Dupes Fiancée Lands In Court

A 23 year-old man, Austine Giwa, has been docked before an Egor Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Benin City for allegedly duping his fiancé, Joy Aibangbee  to the sum of N400,000 under the false pretence of procuring  her travelling documents to the United States of America.

According to the prosecution led by Thomas Omokaro, the accused committed the offence between the months of June and December 2010 around S/T Road, Uselu, Benin City, even as he collected two passport photographs from the unsuspecting girl.

The accused person was also charged for stealing the sum of four hundred thousand naira from the victim.

The victim had testified to the effect that the accused person collected the money in different installments at various times and took her to Oshodi in Lagos state in a bid to introduce her to one of his aunties who would perfect her travelling abroad.
