Man somersaults to death during sex bout with married woman

By MATTHEW DIKE
There was pandemonium in Ajegunle, a Lagos suburb, at the weekend after suspected native thunderbolt popularly known as magun in the local parlance, struck a man during sex romp with an alleged married woman, in a hotel.
The victim, Alaska (not real name) was alleged to have lodged in a hotel in the Aiyetoro area of Ajegunle for a short period with the woman, unknown to him that `death was lurking around the corner.
They were said to be having fun when death came knocking. Alaska was said to be gasping for breath and suddenly flung himself thrice on the ground.

His partner allegedly alerted the hotel attendant about the sudden occurrence in the hotel room.
A man who identified himself as Lekan disclosed that immediately the hotel attendant walked into the room to see the victim, the woman vanished into thin air.
Lekan said he learnt that the woman and the victim, who was identified as a carpenter at Bale Aiyetoro Street, had been dating for about five years. He said the man’s close friends were aware that the lovebirds had engaged in the adulterous act for a very long time.

Another man who identified himself as Gani disclosed that the victim’s first wife died less than a decade ago.
The proprietor of the hotel and others rushed the victim to Ajeromi General Hospital, Ajegunle, where he was confirmed dead. His corpse was returned to his residence in Aiyetoro and his family, it was learnt, transferred it to Ota where he was buried yesterday.

One of his friends who pleaded anonymity alleged that, “the man and the married woman have been dating for a very long time. They have dated for about five years. They loved each other. Though for some time I did not see the woman until recently. Though I warned him about such thing but he would not listen. Now he has died of magun. I believe he died of magun because when the attack came he somersaulted three times. If not for that woman, he would have been alive today. He just sent one of his sons to South Africa. He built a house in Ota. He had two wives but one died several years ago. He was a very friendly person loved by those around him,” he said.
