Mariah Carey's husband hospitalised

Mariah Carey has asked fans to "pray" for her husband Nick Cannon, who has been hospitalised with kidney failure.

The star Tweeted from her husband's bedside as he recovered in Aspen, Colorado.
She described the condition as mild, but asked her followers to keep Nick in their thoughts.
"We're doing OK but we're 'straaaaaanded in Aspen'.

#DramaticDivaPlace (I know, we could be in a lot worse places) but the truth is as long as we're together, we're OK," she wrote on her blog. "I'm not trying to make light out of the situation because it's a serious moment that's very tough on all of us so please keep us and our family in your prayers (sic)."
The singer also posted an accompanying picture of her and Cannon in a hospital bed, with her feeding him a drink.

She revealed that hospital staff had told her visiting hours were over, but she refused to leave her husband's bedside.
"We're trying to be as festive as possible under the circumstances but please keep Nick in your thoughts because this is very painful," she typed. "They tried to kick me out of the hospital but here I am pon de bed with Mr. C (sic)."

The pair became the parents of twins - a boy and a girl - last year.

Cannon is 31. His representative had no further information Wednesday about his condition but said he is still hospitalised.
Mariah explained that it felt very strange to be tending to her husband after he had done the same for her when she was in hospital.

"Last year it was me attached to the machines (after having dembabies) and Nick was there with me through it, and now here we are (sic)," she wrote.
