M.I rocks @ teens at Fanta launch

It was an electrifying performance when Africa’s best rap artiste M.I thrilled several fans and teenagers to an exciting playtime with Fanta, a premium fruit-flavored carbonated soft drink produced by The Coca-Cola Company. It is a new thematic campaign tagged “Play. It’s natural”.

Speaking on the rationale behind the new thematic campaign at the launch event, Mrs. Bolajoko Bayo-Ajayi, Strategic Marketing Manager, Flavours, said Fanta consumers believe in having fun and taking life easy. “When we talk of ‘Play’, we do not mean it in its loose or natural sense, but rather, “Play” as an intrinsic part of everything you do.

Bolajoko stressed that the brand’s core target has a playful, exuberant and frivolous attitude to life which always keeps them on the go. “One of the many great things about this campaign is that it appeals not only to our core target, but also to the entire family. The campaign communicates the great taste of Fanta in a fun way and conveys the intrinsic of the brand that families already love the rich, bubbly, fruity, orange taste of Fanta”, she added.

Black Solo still without a record label

By Charles Mgbolu

More than a year has passed since his contract deal with Kiss Music expired and still, Enugu state born singer Solomon Bello a.k.a Black Solo is yet to be signed on to another record label. Showtime has learnt he is now set to release a new album without any label or marketer in sight.

But Black Solo said he is looking up to God who he believes will see his new album drop anytime between November and December this year. “I was signed on with Kiss Music but now the contract is over. I’m now in the studio trying to hook up some new sounds. I’m done with the song and just waiting for the right time to drop it.”

True, Black solo is doing all he can to promote a single in this album which he calls Fly high. He was sighted performing along side Kelly Handsome in Lagos recently. He told this reporter “I have on the album Durella and Tu face. I’m just waiting for the right marketer to pay the right bills”

Solomon’s hit single The club is on fire under the stables of Kiss Music had flung the ebony skinned, dread locked star into lime light but since his exit from the Kiss Music record company Black solo may have fallen from the music radar.

Showtime pressed to know the conditions under which he left Kiss Music and Black solo had insisted it was mutual. He said “ Howie T is still my friend anytime, anyday. But… (paused) we thank God” Black solo would not answer anymore questions on this issue.

Since he is yet to be under any label, Black solo revealed he had financed the recording of the entire album alone. He said “Once I get a marketer or a record deal, they will pay for everything.”
