Nollywood stars rock TV with Living Next To You

Some tested and trusted Nollywood stars are currently thrilling and entertaining viewers on eight network TV stations, in one of the most viewed and leading series on air, Living Next To You. Painstakingly created and produced by foremost Nollywood filmmaker and comedy merchant extraordinaire, Opa Williams, the highly educative and scintillating drama is also making waves on cable stations.

Already in its second season, the suspense and intrigues-filled drama that is currently ruling the airwaves and serenading viewers will definitely change the trend and concept of TV programming this 2011 and beyond.  Professionally packaged by the ultra modern Opa Williams Studios, the production unit of Virgin Leisure Organization, a wholly entertainment property development outfit duly registered in Nigeria.

Williams, who’s working on the production with Promasidor, as strategic partners, said the drama series, comprehensively mirrors women for who they are.  Explaining further on the 30-minute programme, multiple awards winning Williams, the creator of Nigeria’s premier comedy show, Nite of a Thousand Laughs, among other laudable entertainment initiatives, hinted that the need to entertain Nigerians and help them relax in the midst of several national challenges, gave birth to the new idea.

“Living next to you, is a soap opera characterizing women in their elements. Its setting is based on the lives of different women. This soap is specifically produced to highlight the different elements, traits and characters of these women, irrespective of their age, creed and ethnicity, which convincingly sums up the totality of womanhood” disclosed the producer of hit movies like; Onome, Maama, Tears for Love, Sergeant Okoro and several others.

Opa noted that women had been described and given different nomenclatures. “Some call them mother, wife, mother in law, sister, girlfriend and many more. Interestingly, others refer to them as prostitutes and witches, while some pessimists see them as necessary evil, which they must acquire… “In a nutshell, Living Next To You, mirrors women for who they are”, he added.

Among the notable names mesmerizing viewers in this critically acclaimed soap include, Nollywood veterans, Keppy Ekpeyong-Bassey and Ada Ameh. Others are, Jude Orhorha, Dare Fasasi, Toyin Alausa, Omolara Ladejobi Durotoye, Mary Eustace and a host of others.

According to Williams, aside Living Next To You, Just The Two Of Us and Abelejanyan, are also the two other hit drama series from his stable equally making waves on both national and cable stations.
While, the former is a true reflection of single parenthood within the society and its attendant challenges, Abelejanyan, a Yoruba thriller, is an expose on friendship, betrayal, backbiting, political and social power play within the society. It also showcases the ability and inability of people to live above board. Chucks Okoro directed all the series.
