Couple In Lagos Crushed By Trailer
Civil servants at the Lagos State Government secretariat wailed uncontrollably, yesterday, when they received news that a couple, staff of the state government had been crushed to death by a trailer at Ogere area on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

LEADERSHIP gathered that the duo, Mr. Rotimi Olugbuyi and Mrs Toyin Olugbuyi were returning from Ibadan in their personal car to their Mowe home when the gruesome incident occurred.

Our correspondent learnt that the husband and wife were Public Relations Officers, (PROs) at the Ministry of Information and attached to other ministries.

Witnesses said that the car driven by Mr. Olugbuyi had a burst tyre on motion and somersaulted to the other side of the road where a fast moving trailer heading to Ibadan crushed the car and its occupants to death.

The duo were said to have been crushed beyond recognition by the trailer and the officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps merely gathered their remains to their Ogere Office.

A staff of the Lagos State Government, who confirmed their demise on condition of anonymity, said that the car they were driven in had a burst tyre and skidded to the other side of the road where a trailer crushed the car and the occupants.

According to him, “They have been married for 13 years but have no children. Rotimi and Toyin are very nice people that is why many PROs came to the burial.

A staff of the Lagos State Scholarship Board, who craved anonymity, said “Rotimi was a kind man. I saw him on Friday. It is a sad situation.”

Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Aderemi Ibirogba, who commiserated with the family lamented the loss of the two staff of the state government, and said that it was quite shocking.
