Christian, Muslim Youths Condemn ‘Blasphemy’ Film
Thousand of Nigerian Christian and Muslim youths yesterday condemned the ‘blasphemy’ film against the Prophet Muhammad (SWA), even as they appealed to all Nigerians to remain law abiding.
The youths, under the umbrella body of Christian/Muslim Youth Peace Initiative of Nigeria (CM-PIN) and has members across the country, said “as youths of Nigeria, we totally reject the act of disrespect to our religious values which we hold dearly.
“The act of portraying Prophet Muhammad and in some cases Jesus Christ by some individual in quest for financial gains is highly disturbing.”
A statement signed by the group’s co-chairmen, Diji Obadiah Haruna and Mal. Garba Muhammad, noted that film was said to be of a low quality and the identity of the producer questionable.
“Even in the country he claims to come from, they had rejected his claim. This shows that the man in question is acting alone with a sole purpose to further create a divide and confusion in the global world,” they said.
“We are appealing to the entire youths of our dear country Nigeria to remain law abiding, resolute and focused so that few individuals would not succeed in creating disharmony among us. We should join hands in condemning such act of disrespect for our religious values,” the statement further read.
