See what red can do

It is the colour of energy. It is associated with movement and excitement. Wearing red as clothes and accessories will make you appear a bit ‘heavier’ and certainly more noticeable. In wearing red, you need confidence and the right attitude because it draws attention to you. You become the cynosure of eyes but keep these in mind when you want to wear a very sexy red outfit:

It is important to choose the right tone of the colour. During the day, choose colours that are bright and go for dresses with pattern. When wearing red at night, opt for monotones in dark red as they are sexy and classy. They look very nice against pale skin. Choose the bright orange reds or fuchsia reds for darker skin tones.

If you are a small structured woman, wear bright reds that will flatter your body. You can also wear patterns as they draw attention to your body, giving you an hour-glass figure.

For large women, a darker shade of red like maroon or wine will draw less attention to your body, giving an illusion of pettiness. Choose a pattern around the bust line to take away the attention from problem areas like the waist.

Choose the cut and style of the red dress

Choose a rather modest dress when wearing red as it already exudes sexiness. You need to choose a simpler style. A plain red dress can be very attention-seeking, so the trick here is to steer clear of all the attractions like daring cleavage and panty lines.

Simple necklines, fitted cuts are the order of the day when wearing red. Keep the cut and the style of the dress clean and neat. The style should flatter your body and also fit well. There is nothing worse than an ill-fitted red dress.

Accessorising the red dress

The red dress does not need many accessories because it is already very high on the sexy quotient. Therefore, keep accessories chic and simple. To make it look more elegant and sexy, wear very delicate gold or silver jewellery.

Using a black belt on the thinnest part of the waist glamorises the dress.

Black sandals don’t always complement the red dress, contrary to common belief. Instead, choose silver or nude shades in sandals and a matching clutch for the evening or a satchel in neutral shades for your day wear. Peep toes, strappy sandals and high heeled pumps all flatter the red dress.
