Newscafe shuts shop
By Kemi Lawal
Until a few months ago, Newscafe was perhaps one of the hottest fun spots on the island and its proprietor, Femi Akande, ensured that a host of celebrities made the joint their favourite hangout. This was the status quo until a few months ago. Now, it is under lock and key.
For a while, some people thought it was temporary as it is not strange for fun spots to halt their services albeit temporarily to accommodate an overhauling of their premises.
All hopes of Newscafe reopening for business have finally been dashed. If the telltale signs at its former location are anything to go by, then it is no longer business as usual. What remains unknown is if Akande has only shut shop preparatory to relocating to another environment.
