2012 Guinness World Records for Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Rihanna and W. Smith
These singers have broken every record imaginable with the music and social media, Gaga on Twitter, Bieber on Youtube, Rihanna's No. 1 singles and Adele's chart success Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber and Rihanna are now in the Guinness Book of Records for their enormous successes in music and social media.
Lady Gaga’s new records include Most Followers on Twitter. She had more than 11 million followers at the time of measurement and has since increased that to 13 million. Gaga’s ‘Poker Face’ takes the record for most weeks on the US Digital Hot Songs chart with 83.
Bieber gets the honor for Most Popular Video of Any Kind Online for his ‘Baby’ music video, which is credited with a staggering 463 million views through February. Since then, the number of views eclipsed the 500 million mark and is now in excess of 622 million.
Many of the new records are for music achievement in the United Kingdom, where several chart records fell in the past year. Rihanna nabs a UK honor by becoming the first female artist to earn No. 1 singles in five consecutive years, achieved when ‘Only Girl (In the World)’ topped the charts.
Adele has broken numerous records on both sides of the Atlantic. Guinness is recognizing her for having the most consecutive (11) and total (18) weeks at No. 1 on the UK album chart with ’21,’ and for being the first female artist to have two entries in the Top 5 on both the singles and album charts at the same time.
ALso, 10-year-old Willow gets her name in the Guinness Book as the youngest artist to hit the Top 20 in the UK thanks to ‘Whip My Hair.’
