The nights show started off with the Nigeria Diasporama all star Band, featuring  Asa, Dele Sosimi, Tony Allen and 14 others performing .Still thinking of a word to qualify  these fantastic Nigerian artists. Thereafter the main headliner for the nights show SEUN KUTI and the Egypt 80 Band  stormed the stage and it was like the roof was on fire,trust me the show was fantastic  all his fans stood up almost at the same time to dance along, but for health and safety reasons  and considering the fact that the Theatre Royal was built for the staid victorian times ,very old fashioned  and restricted and obviously not for the vibrant , passionate music and people of Nigeria and Africa in General. Bracket A.K.A Yori-Yori Relocates From Yaba Estate To Lekki

The duo of Vast and Smash of Bracket music group have relocated from their base in Tajudeen Olanrewaju Estate, Yaba, to a more expensive and posh duplex apartment at Bourdilon Court, Lekki, highbrow of Lagos. The Yori-Yori crooners, who have now joined the league of entertainment big wigs residing on the Island, relocated to their new abode few weeks ago.   Meanwhile, the second phase of the musical group’s tour of the United States of America will commence on Saturday, 4 August, 2012 in Baltimore before moving to other cities such as Minnesota, Atlanta, Rode Island, Chicago, Miami, New York and Philadelphia where they will also be given an honorary award by the Mayor of Philadelphia.

John Dramani Mahama, Sworn In As President

Ghana's John Dramani Mahama, sworn in as president on Tuesday following the sudden death of John Atta Mills, says he was forever changed by his boyhood experiences during a 1966 military coup. The 53-year-old who had been vice president was born in Bole Bamboi in northern Ghana and holds degrees in history and communications, according to Ghanian media. He served as a diplomat in Japan in the early 1990s before returning to Ghana, where he was first elected to parliament as a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) party. He later became the chairman of the West Africa Caucus at the Pan African Parliament in Pretoria, before deceased president Mills tipped him for the vice presidency.

Ritual Killers Behead 7-year-old Over N250, 000

Two ritual killers from Nasarawa State who beheaded a 7 year old boy, identified as Samu Danjuma, after a promise of N250, 000 by their prospective buyer are cooling their heels in the cell of the FCT command of the State Security Service (SSS). The men, John Yakubu a.k.a Tambaya and Ishaya Dakulung were said to have hatched a plan to make quick money when a  third accomplice, one Bamayi, assured them that they would make money if they could get a fresh human head. The two suspects, according to SSS, were arrested last Sunday at about 1:30 am along A.Y.A junction of Asokoro District of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja, following a tip off. Auto Crash: 2 Corps Members Die,12 Others Injured

An auto crash at Igbor Village of Gwer Local Government Area of Benue State has killed two Batch B’ corps members just as 12 others, six males and six females, who  survived the crash were receiving treatment in hospitals in the area. LEADERSHIP recalled that the former Secretary to the Benue State Government (SSG), late Dr. Audu Achigili had, in December 2010 died in an accident at a bend in the same village. It was gathered that the accident occurred between 4pm and 5pm on Monday evening, when the corps members were travelling to Otukpo town, the place of their primary assignments. An eye witness, who simply gave his name as Joseph, told our correspondent that the corps members were travelling in a 16 seater bus with a banner of Anglican Corpers’ Fellowship, which lost control, and somersaulted three times and finally crashed into the bush. A 38-year old Indian man identified as Sohanial Chouhan recently made a do it yourself chastity belt to prevent his wife from engaging in extramarital affairs. We learnt Sohanial Chouhan’s brutality was exposed when his wife, Sitabai whom he married at age 16 was rushed to the hospital after attempting to commit suicide with rat poison. While receiving treatment at the hospital to discharge the poison she took, nurses were amazed to find a padlock in her vagina. According to Mrs. Sitabai Chouhan, who had been married to Chouhan for 19 years,  in 2008, Chouhan  drugged her and locked her in a room late at night and then proceeded to drill holes with a spiky instrument on either side of her genitals in order to fit a lock to stop her from having sex  with other men while he is at work. A Woman Could Not Pay Rent & Resort To Street Fight With Professor (Owner)

A woman identified as Sandra Aihanunwa has been arrested for allegedly engaging in a violent street fight with a Professor Akin Adeonojobi in his Egbe, Lagos home. According to pm report,Mr Akin who is a professor of Philosophy at Federal University, Lafia got into a brawl with Sandra who rented his shop located in front of his house at James Omotosho street, Egbe Lagos after asking for his rent. 42-year old Sandra became violent and grabbed him, tore his cloth and damaged his eye glasses. The matter was reported at Ikotun police station and she was arrested and charged to court for assault. Narrating what happened in the open court, the professor said that he rented one of the shops in front of his house to Sandra and that her initial payment, she had refused to pay her two years rent arrears.
