Two Women in Court For Stabbing Roommate
Two women, Cynthia Okeke and Blessing Ogumalu, have been arraigned before a Magistrate Court in Life Camp, Abuja for allegedly beating up and stabbing their roommate.

The prosecutor, Mohammed Salisu, said Mr. Ernest Zina, a resident of Gawrimpa Estate in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), reported to the police that he accommodated Cynthia Okeke of the same address on January 23, 2013, but she brought in two other friends, Blessing Ogumalu and one Mr. Cletus now at large to the house.

The accused persons, he said allegedly conspired to beat up the plaintiff and stabbed him on the head, thereby inflicting serious injury on his head. The accused were charged to court for joint act and grievous hurt, an act which contravenes sections 79 and 240 of the penal code law.

When the matter came up for mention, Okeke and Ogumalu denied stabbing Zina on the head or beating him up.

The magistrate, Mohammed Zubairu, however, granted the accused persons bail in the sum of N30,000, a surety residing within the jurisdiction of the court, who must have evidence of good behaviour.
