Palm Wine Tapper Kills Mother-in-law

Palm Wine Tapper Kills Mother-in-law
A middle aged palm wine taper in Illah near Asaba, Delta State has been arrested by  the police for allegedly killing his mother in-law.

Police spokesman in the state, ASP Famous Ajieh said the palm wine tapper was  presently at the police CID cell for further investigation.

LEADERSHIP reliably gathered that the palm wine tapper identified as Linus (surname withheld) is a native of Arochukwu in  Abia State who sojourned in Illah and was said to have series of family problems.

Our sources said Linus combined his palm wine tapping business with farming until the bizarre incident.

Sources said that trouble started from his alleged inability to meet his conjugal duties which he apparently blamed on the mother in-law who had visited the family over two months ago.

Linus, a father of two children had allegedly confessed that his mother in-law was responsible for his misfortune and threatened to kill her if his situation persisted.

Our correspondent gathered that last Thursday, Linus had allegedly resolved to either kill himself or his mother in-law.

LEADERSHIP checks revealed that in the early hours of the fateful day, Linus  reportedly sent his family members including the mother in-law to the farm where he had concluded on what to do with her.

Our informed sources said that the mother in-law was given two bunches of plantain to go home and prepare meal before the arrival from the farm of other members of the family. Linus allegedly excused himself from other family members in the farm in the guise of going to check his palm wine and  ambushed the woman.

The unsuspecting mother in-law was said to have ran into Linus few meters from the farm where she was allegedly murdered but unknown to him he was seen by two of his friends who are also palm wine tappers.
