New Movie: The Spotlight

The Spotlight is a short film produced by Ijeoma Grace Agu, Leelee Byoma and Jane Ikpeme. It was directed by Yemi Morafa, and it stars Ijeoma Grace Agu, Leelee Byoma, Jane Ikpeme, OC Ukeje, Paul Alumona, and Udoka Onyeka. Written by Jane Ikpeme, it takes a look at the travails of actors.

The short film focuses on three actors in various stages of their career. Ifeoma (Ijeoma Grace Agu) is beginning to create a buzz based on her talent, but still experiences prejudice when it comes to starring roles needing a pretty face. Halima (Leelee Byoma) is the pretty actor that is hell bent on making it by whatever means neccessary. Despite her numerous sexual dilliances with producers, they still relegate her to the background when casting for lead roles. Keini (Jane Ikpeme) is the actor who is very self conscious and lacks confidence in herself. She is very talented but people only see her as an unsure person and so do not give her the time of day.
