Happy Birthday Amaka Igwe (Director & Producer)

January 2 was the birthday of renowned director and producer, Amaka Igwe. She is from Obinagu-Udi in Enugu State. She attended All Saints School, now Trans-Ekulu Primary Schoool for her primary education. She attended Girls High School, Awukanaw, and Idia College, Benin, for her secondary school education. She attended University of Ife, now Obafemi Awolowo University, where she studied Education and Religious Study

She created the classic Nigerian soap opera, Checkmate, which starred Richard Mofe-Damijo, and Ego Boyo. She also directed the Nollywood classics, Violated and Rattlesnake, Today, she is the CEO of Amaka Igwe Studios, and she has launched her own TV channel, named Q Networks, which will be hosted on DSTV.
