SSS Says - Don’t Compare Boko Haram With Niger Delta Militants

The Director of the FCT command of the State Security Service (SSS), Mr Okojie Little-John has said that there is no basis for comparison between the Niger Delta militants and the Boko Haram sect.

According to Okojie, while the Niger Delta militants and their demands were well known by all, the Boko Haram sect has remained faceless with their demands equally vague.

Okojie spoke when the newly elected members of the Abuja chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Abuja, yesterday.

He said that the best way to overcome the current security challenges was for the public to collaborate with the security agencies.

The director who admonished journalists to be conscious of their reportage and desist from publishing reports that could affect national security, averred that as media people, their responsibility was to inform the public without inflaming them with falsehood.

He urged people in the area where the sect operates to cooperate with the security agencies to identify them.

The Abuja NUJ vice president, Mr Primus Khanoba who led the media delegation assured the SSS boss that Abuja journalists were determined to establish a cordial relationship with the security agency.
