Kanayo O. Kanayo shifts 50th birthday for Ojukwu

Ace actor, Kanayo O. Kanayo would clock 50 on March 1. But just as expectations are high that the script interpreter would roll out the drums, KOK has decided to shift the celebration for obvious reasons.

KOK’s birthday party would have to wait because of the burial of Eze Gburugburu of Igboland, Dim Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu, who was a mentor of the actor.

Hear KOK: “I have to shift the celebration of my birthday because of the respect I have for Dim Ojukwu. Ojukwu has been at the centre stage of the unity of the Igbo. He was a leader’s leader, a great historian, charismatic and fearless. The political and social climate of South East of the Niger can never be the same with his exit. He was a man born with the proverbial silver spoon but chose to achieve greatness on his own through hardwork. We must salute that courage. I met him twice in my lifetime and I tell you, that man is something else. He was a gift to this nation and we must appreciate that.”

The actor cum politician, who recently added a 2011 Toyota saloon car to his fleet, however, revealed that a thanksgiving ceremony would hold on his birthday.
